VENTURE Government Strategies Welcomes Former Treasury Official Jon Blum as Senior Vice President.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — VENTURE Government Strategies today announced that Jonathan Blum, former Acting Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, has joined the firm as Senior Vice President.
Blum brings more than a decade of experience at the intersection of politics and policy, with senior roles across the Executive Branch, Capitol Hill, and the private sector. Most recently, he served as Treasury’s chief liaison to Congress and a member of the Department’s leadership team, advising the Secretary and senior officials on complex legislative and policy strategies spanning domestic finance, international affairs, sanctions, tax, and appropriations.
Prior to his service as Acting Assistant Secretary, Blum held positions including Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at Treasury during President Trump’s first term, Vice President of Congressional Relations at the American Bankers Association, and Public Policy Advisor at WilmerHale, a leading international law firm. He also spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill as lead advisor for the House Financial Services Committee Financial Institutions Subcommittee under then-Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) and as staff to U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.), former U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-Nev.), and former Ranking Member Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) on the Senate Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee.

Blum holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore’s College of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington College. He was awarded the Treasury Department’s Alexander Hamilton Award, the Department’s highest honor bestowed by the Secretary.
